Baby's first (and Charlotte's second or third?) camping trip!

Last night we went on a little impromptu camping trip to the deep dark woods of my parents' backyard...  :)

After setting up the tent, supper and a good bonfire with s'mores, a flashlight walk down the gravel road, and someone saying "my tummy hurts" and worrying about puke in the tent, we settled in to our sleeping bags.  Surprisingly, Charlotte only got out of her sleeping bag once for a quick drink of water, then fell asleep almost immediately (it was two hours past her bedtime, so I suppose that helped).  She slept all night and didn't wake up until almost 7am!  Mama, on the other hand, did a little tossing and turning (or perhaps we should call it something less graceful sounding?), but overall slept well enough to call the "camping trip" a success.  A big perk to camping in your parents' backyard?  Indoor plumbing and a hot breakfast waiting for you inside in the morning!

Charlotte and Grandpa watching the fire.

A little blurry.  She wanted to keep going in and out of the tent about a hundred times!

About to settle in for the night.

Pretending to be sleeping.  I couldn't believe how bright this picture turned out since it was actually pitch black inside the tent and I couldn't see where to aim the camera.

 Again with the fake sleeping.

This was this morning, after she crawled in to snuggle in my sleeping bag with me.  Who is that between us, you ask?  Why, that's Emma, Charlotte's little sister.  She comes just about EVERYWHERE with us and sleeps in the baby's crib, rides in the baby's carseat, sits in the baby's high chair.  Charlotte even changes Emma's cloth diapers (approximately once every other day, so we'll have to work on her for when the real baby comes...).

We couldn't quite coordinate whether we were both going to pretend sleeping or both going to smile for the camera...

Now Charlotte is fast asleep and Mama is wide awake....
