Potato Day!
I (Matt) was bitten by the baking bug today on my blessed day off... One of Charlotte's favorite treats are french fries so I thought I would try my hand at homemade fries.

Some yummy locally grown spuds from our favorite farmer's market
Cut shoestring style, tossed with oil, salt, pepper, and a little garlic and chile powder and baked at 375 for 30 minutes made a better-than-expected treat.

To continue our potato day theme and not waste the already hot oven we baked a loaf of potato bread. Mmmmmm.
Too bad momma is on call at the hospital today but don't worry, we saved you some fries. :)

Alice the Mole
This morning, while snuggling in bed, Charlotte pointed out a mole on my arm and began singing:

"Alice, Alice, Alice the mole...Alice the mole. The dark one is bigger. The pink one is pinker. Alice, Alice, Alice the mole."
Remember who Alice the mole is?

Story time
Tonight as Charlotte was going to bed I told her a story as we usually do, but paused every so often to let her fill in the blanks.
Once upon a time, there were some kittens. The kittens were named Charlotte, Duchess, Silas, and Miren (the last two are kids of our friends in Duluth that we just visited). One day, they went to a party. When they got to the party they were suprised to see the Cat in the Hat! So then, a big fan blew them off the edge of a cliff. And then they saw a flamingo. The end.
Well told, Charlotte.
